LEGACY & EMPOWERMENT
Sediba Sa Rona is more than a destination—it’s a beacon of inspiration and upliftment. The lodge represents our commitment to Botswana citizen involvement in tourism, as well as sustainable development as we, in partnership with Savanna Expeditions, revive and honour the legacy of one of Botswana’s first exclusive photographic safari lodges, Khwai River Lodge.
Sediba Sa Rona (“Our Source of Water”) truly encapsulates the spirit of this exceptional partnership and is an ode to the magnificent Khwai River, which flows in front of the lodge and sustains the large concentrations of wildlife found in the area.
Our commitment to sustainable development is highlighted by the rebuild keeping to the original lodge footprint and 15-room capacity, thus reducing the impact of additional rooms being built in the Okavango.
For guests, Sediba Sa Rona will be a sanctuary for industry-leading safari journeys. For Botswana, the lodge will be a fresh source that initiates positive, widespread ripple effects thanks to our holistic framework that encompasses the environment, wildlife, culture, history, and local economy.
Fully operated and managed by Desert & Delta Safaris, Sediba Sa Rona will uphold our renowned standards of excellence in all areas of operations.
THE LODGE & ACCOMMODATION
Overlooking the Khwai River and bordering Moremi Game Reserve, Sediba SaRona is positioned beneath a canopy of leadwood and fig trees. With its unbeatable location underscored by a visionary rebuild, the lodge is destined to be extremely popular with safari travellers.
There are 15 Luxury Tents, each with en-suite bathrooms, and outdoor decks with stunning views over the Khwai River. Nature is all around, offering opportunities to spot wildlife from all Luxury Tents and the main areas, where you’ll find further vantage points.
Meals are served in the main dining area, where communal dining reflects our culture of connection, community, and sharing. For families with specific dining needs, those seeking privacy, or guests celebrating a special occasion, private dining can be arranged upon request.
There are multiple areas to enjoy a drink, from the well-stocked bar to comfortable indoor lounges and outdoor viewing areas. Sediba Sa Rona’s spa will be a haven for relaxation with an array of professional wellness treatments available.
Stunning views extend from the swimming pool, bar, and main decks to the dining areas. The open-air fire deck, which faces the Khwai River, is linked to the main area by a raised boardwalk—a popular spot for gathering around the fire to begin and end the day, as well as for stargazing.
The curio shop is a treasure trove for beautifully crafted keepsakes and gifts, Desert & Delta Safaris apparel, wildlife books and a selection of children’s craft materials. Many items, from jewellery to décor, are handcrafted and support our mission of Empowering Botswana Through Tourism by giving back to local artisans.
With a focus on detail, a love for meaningful luxuries, sustainable practices, and our exceptional team, Sediba Sa Rona stands out as a true haven—where adventure, relaxation, outstanding service, and soulful moments come together for an unforgettable safari journey.
