Desert & Delta Safaris sponsored student, Ngeepertjike Ngaruka from Tsodilo Junior Secondary School, has attained first place out of the whole of Botswana with his excellent exam results! We are proud of him for his outstanding achievements and we wish him all the best in his future studies and we can’t wait to see him continue to shine and be a part of your journey.
As part of our CARES philosophy we focus on Career and Community and as a result we have adopted and work closely with Tsodilo Junior Secondary School based in Maun. We are involved in a number of ways within the school such as a program which motivates children to work hard at their studies and focus on their future. The incentive is that the Top 10 students will receive a 3 day trip to Leroo La Tau, where they will be treated to an incredible wildlife viewing opportunity and be shown the best hospitality out there as our guests! Every guest who books a BODDS package assists Desert & Delta Safaris in contributing funds towards work like this.
Ngeepetjike Ngaruka has been a Top 10 performer for a number of years and enjoyed spending time with us at Leroo La Tau and being awarded for his successes. When asked about his experience at Leroo La Tau he mentioned that he was very motivated by Leroo La Tau. He also said that his sister, before him, had attended Leroo La Tau and she had told him all about it and he was determined to experience this for himself too. He really enjoyed the experience and had loved the game drives.
This past year despite all the Covid-19 disruptions, Ngeepetjike kept his focus and achieved great things! He has emerged from 2020 as the Junior Certificate Examinations (JCE) overall top performer throughout the country and has been awarded with a merit of 9A’s. This is an incredible achievement as over 43 000 students sat for these exams. He is determined and hardworking. In an interview, with a local paper he said: “I sowed the seed in pain but now I am reaping in joy”.
At Desert & Delta Safaris, we care about our staff members, their families, their community and developing the future potential of those around us. We look forward to seeing other students being inspired by Ngaruka’s success and supporting them in achieving their full potential for the future.
